MEET OUR TEAM

Champagne & Roses Catering & Event Planning is a family business. Meet our family!

Michael Schubert

In 1976 at age 21, Mike, the family patriarch, decided he wanted to open a restaurant after working in one for over 2 years while in college. It took a couple of years to take off but it has been going strong for over 40 years.

Gina Schubert

The matriarch of the family and the one who pushed Mike into catering. Since Mike wouldn't let her control things in the restaurant, she decided to branch out into off-premise catering letting Mike know not to step into her territory. He tried. He didn't succeed.

Josh Schubert

Josh, our chef de cuisine, attended The Culinary Institute and The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. He's worked in foodservice since he was 7 years old when he came to the restaurant with Mom & Dad and bussed tables. He wanted to do it, really. And we let him until someone reported us to the Department of Labor who didn't think a 7 year old should be bussing tables in a restaurant. The customers loved him though. He got lots of tips.

Sam Schubert

Sam is the youngest Schubert but he keeps up with the rest of us if not surpasses us. He can do just about anything he puts his mind to. Sam was an entrepreneur before any of us knew what that word meant. In elementary school, he would buy pogs and sell them at a premium price. Until he got caught and the principal decided conducting business and making a profit in school was a no-no. If you ask me, that principal didn't understand the concept of democracy and how schools can play a part in teaching kids the American Dream.

Becky Schubert

Becky is our creative child. She attended the University of the Arts and majored in animation. She's created some beautiful artwork, some of which hangs in our house. Becky is our graphic artist and social media expert. She created our website, takes care of facebook, twitter, Instagram, e-mail blasts, flyers and anything else that needs to look great. She is also an amazing cook. She creates all of the quiches for the restaurant and makes the most delicious ice cream you will never have. Unless I can convince her to make some for our catering clients. Keep your fingers crossed.

Julie Schubert

Yes, we do have one more child. Who decided after working in the business all through high school and college that she was done with restaurants and catering. She went to college in New York and never came home. Julie is now an Emmy award winning casting director who has cast such shows as "House of Cards," "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and many other films and TV series. You'd think she would have introduced us to some celebrities by now, wouldn't you? Or at least brought them by the restaurant. We do occasionally see Mickey Dolan from the Beatles though.
